Hayden Is Turning One

Wow…this is the second 2009 Spring baby within a week, that has returned for some updated shots.  And again, I cannot believe how fast time flies and how quickly these little ones grow.  I did Hayden’s newborn pics last spring, and this past Saturday I had the opportunity to go back and visit…just before he turns a year old.  I grew up with Hayden’s dad in the wee town of Clinton, so it’s nice when old friends ask me to do photos of their families…it’s always nice to catch up.  So, off I went to visit with Hayden and his parents at their home in Stratford.

Now, I don’t usually go back and pull files from past shoots to post.  Normally, I just give you a link to check out their earlier images…but, I took a look at Hayden’s newborn shots and seriously cannot believe how much this little man has grown up.  Here is one of his newborn shots…

And here are a few of my faves from last weekend.  You’ll notice the St. Paddy’s day theme…well, Hayden just so happens to have been born on March 17th!

And just one more comparison…the first image is Hayden’s feet with Daddy’s hands as newborn…and the second is current.  Even his feet have grown so much…too cute!

Thanks Chris and Kristy for having me back to catch up with Hayden and both of you as well.  It was great to see you all.  Happy 1st Birthday Hayden!!!

Jocelyn + Ella = Sisters

Wow…I can’t believe how much these two little girls have grown.  I remember doing Jocelyn’s one-year shots before I ever even thought of having a website or blogging…yes, I realize it’s not THAT long ago, but still she’s grown up so quickly.  And you may remember her little sister, Ella…from my Spring Babies blog entry last year.  Well…when I showed up to do this sisters’ shoot…well, I don’t know where the time has gone, but I just couldn’t believe that wee Ella had grown up so much…crawling and standing at furniture…afterall she’s like 10-months-old now.  Yikes…I REALLY can’t believe it’s been 10 months.

Anyway, these two sisters are the cutest little darlings.  Jocelyn is now old enough to want to pose and all smiles for the camera…while Ella is at the age where she doesn’t have time to sit in front of a camera, as she’s got better things to do…lol.  Too sweet.  I hope you’ll enjoy these shots of the little beauties as much as I do.

Welcome

Welcome to my new blog for Jakal Photography.  You’ll notice it’s a bit different from my standard Jakal look of  “black and white”, but I just think this new look shows my personality a little better…black and green…green being my favourite colour.  I just like that it’s a little funkier…a fun place to show my work to you from my perspective.  The other thing I like about this new blog is that it allows me to show my images a little larger too. 😉   Now you won’t have to have your nose squished to the monitor to see the tiny images I was posting on my previous blog.

And how better to welcome you to my new blog, than with some images of my own family.  We spent this past weekend together, being that I had no shoots scheduled…just having some family fun.  Of course, I couldn’t leave the camera at home for our winter fun!  So, here are some shots of our family tobogganing at Grandpa McCowan’s farm.
